On this page you can learn something about me as a person and my hobbies, or better: my passions.
Besides table tennis and my job as an IT expert, I'm most passionate about music and that's what this website is about.
I started as a child to get on my parents' nerves by drumming on all available objects.
At the age of 8 I started my training on the snare drum with Emil Spengler at Musikverein Altdorf. This led me to private lessons with Rolf Brucker (El Paso), who then also taught me how to play the drums. At the same time I was introduced to the youth orchestra of Musikverein Altdorf and 2 years later to the whole orchestra, at that time still under the direction of Emil Spengler, later Wolfgang Schaudt followed by Markus Obergföll.
In addition to the drums I learned to play the timpani and percussion instruments, but my focus was always on the combined set.
At my school, Gymnasium Ettenheim, I was part of the student orchestra and the big band and ironically also helped out with the teacher's band.
At the age of 17 I started to get more and more interested in harmony and melody and enjoyed strumming on the grand piano before and after music lessons. This new fascination grew quickly, so that over the following years I would teach myself to play the piano. My good ear and my view of music theory as a transferable system helped me make great progress quickly. Sheet music was secondary - if I wanted to play a piece or accompany it to song, it was enough for me to hear it and identify a single note as the anchor. This earned me valuable respect from friends and musicians, which motivated me all the more.
After graduating from high school in 2013, I knew that I wanted to pursue my penchant for computers and technology and that music would remain a hobby. I therefore decided to train as an IT specialist for system integration and, small leap in time, a few years later I am head of an IT department since 2022.
Over the coming years I became part of bands and other musical formations, some of them are "Legacy", "Dixielarious City Stompers" and the Big Band of the Musikverein Altdorf. There I could contribute my ideas and gain instructive (live) experience. Especially worth mentioning are the vocal trio "The HAT Group", which specializes in polyphonic (sacred) works and the foundation of the 4-piece jam band "Session3", which, as the name suggests, plays freely improvised pieces and a few covers in the rock, funk and blues genres. More bands and projects can be found on the page "MUSIC".
The year 2021 was to be a very special one. With the singer Lorena Sell, whom I had met in 2019 at a wedding music project, the first own song was recorded and released: "For A While" tells the story of a seriously ill man and wants to show the light at the end of the tunnel and bring a moment of hope. The matching music video was shot with the help of Maxi Baier at three locations and put online shortly after the release of the song. To suddenly find ourselves on the big platforms Spotify and YouTube under our own steam was honestly an unforgettable feeling, not to mention the feedback we received.
This joy of music with Lorena fostered our collaboration, so in the coming months we framed several weddings, which lead to the founding of "Hochzeits Duo", see its own page in the navigation. Wedding ceremonies, I found out, give you another and deeper feeling of elation, because you are there on probably the most beautiful day of a couple and make it even more unforgettable.
Narratively, we're in the middle of Corona time right now, with all its ugly limitations. Fortunately, my musical activities were hardly affected, or I just didn't let it happen, because in 2021, my band at the time, "Monkey Mindz", also released their first single: "Freiburger Jungs" is about the love for the local football club SC Freiburg.
A year later, when things started to calm down, I went back to work with Lorena. The result was the house single "Heartbreak Summer", snappy and full of energy. The uprising house producer Tripton thought the same and contacted us to create a remix that goes more in the slap house direction. With almost 50,000 streams on Spotify so far, we can be very proud of ourselves.
The next milestone for me is the annual concert of Musikverein Altdorf, called "Klauskonzert" after the church patron St. Nikolaus, in December 2022. The idea of a vocal group was born years before, but now I grabbed the opportunity of this concert to rehearse and present the piece "Wenn du daran glaubst" by Oliver Gies together with 4 musicians - "...MVAcapella directed by Fabian Bühler...".
In March 2023 I moved from Mahlberg to my hometown Altdorf. A condominium there enabled me to fulfill a dream: My own home studio. Using Logic Pro X from Apple, I work in it on mixing rehearsal and concert recordings of my own bands, as well as commissioned by friends and orchestras, enjoying the wonderful sound quality of the Adam Audio studio speakers. This is no advertising, they are just great!
Few know that I've been gathering ideas for my own album for 2 years. Planned is a pure piano album with 6-8 tracks, which should serve the target group #relax, #chill, #study and #sleep. Since the result should meet my own high standards, I take a lot of time for it and can not yet estimate when it will be ready. In addition, there is time for mastering and all the trappings like artwork, marketing and so on. But for sure you won't miss the release if you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Spotify or YouTube. The links to it are all over the place.
"As much as making music makes me happy, there is at least the same joy in inspiring and entertaining others with it. That has always been my motivation and always will be. I hope to be able to count you among them in some form or another."
Have a great time!
